AI disrupts protein design, a new era of developing drugs may be here

Professor David Baker, a pioneer in the field of artificially designed proteins, has published a new paper in Nature, in which his team has developed the AI software RFdiffusion, which can break through many of the previous limitations of protein design, and "customize" the design of proteins containing higher-order symmetric structures that could not be designed by AI in the past. The Nature press release states that the software can be customized to design proteins with high-order symmetric structures that could not be designed by AI before. According to a Nature press release, this AI model can design biomolecules on demand, potentially ushering in the next era of transformative vaccine and drug development. (Caixinhua News Agency)
